17th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Chemical Ecology
15 - 19 August 2000. Poços de Caldas, Brazil.

The 17^th ISCE Annual Meeting will be held at the town of Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, beginning on the evening of 15^th August (Tuesday) and ending on the evening of 19^th August (Saturday), 2000, which is the week just before the International Congress of Entomology, that will be held at Foz do Iguassu (20 - 26 August 2000). The ISCE Meeting is integrated perfectly with the International Congress of Entomology at Foz do Iguassu. ISCE participants can go directly from Poços de Caldas to the Congress at Foz do Iguassu, via São Paulo.

Abstracts

The Meeting will be followed by the 2^nd Brazilian Meeting on Chemical Ecology, on Saturday 19^th Augus, which will give an opportunity for Brazilian Chemical Ecologists to meet at the ISCE Annual Meeting.

The organising committee is composed of Prof. E. F. Vilela, President (Univ. Fed. Viçosa, MG, Brazil), Dr. W. S. Leal, Vice-President (Univ. California, Davis, USA), Prof. P. C. Vieira and Prof. J. B. Fernandes (Univ. Fed. São Carlos, SP, Brazil), Dr. P. Zarbin (Univ. Fed. Paraná, Curitiba, Brazil), Prof. A. E. Sant'Ana (Univ. Fed. Alagoas, Maceió, Brazil), Dr. A. E. Eiras (Univ. Fed. Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil), Dr. J. R. Trigo (UNICAMP, Campinas, Brazil), E. R. Lima (Univ. Fed. Viçosa, MG, Brazil), Dr. R. Epifânio (Univ. Fed. Fluminense, Niteroi, Brazil) and Dr. H. Prates (Embrapa, Brazil). The programme committee has organised sessions, which will be hosted by invited speakers, who have already confirmed their participation.

Ecotourism in Poços de Caldas is very popular, with a wide variety of local ecosystems that can be toured and visited. Poços de Caldas is located at the border of Minas Gerais and São Paulo states, just two hours from São Paulo International Airport.

The meeting organisers have arranged airport bus shuttles to and from São Paulo airport and Poços de Caldas for meeting parcipitants, for those who send the itinirary form by 16^th July 2000.
